The Female Face of Military Parades

Military parades, as is well known, should demonstrate the military power of the State to its citizens, as well as to allies and a potential adversary abroad. Tough, courageous soldiers and formidable military equipment, in general, cope with this task, and therefore the tradition of holding parades is widespread in modern armies.

But, in addition to propaganda tasks, the demonstration of military force also has certain aesthetic content. Parades should be beautiful — it is no accident that military personnel have a special parade uniform to participate in them. In the armies of many countries of the world, women are also attracted to participate in military parades, both as part of their regular units, where they often serve on an equal basis with men and in the form of specially created women's parade crews. The desire for beauty, of course, is inherent in the military, which sometimes leads to curiosities. For example, when preparing for the parade on September 3, 2015, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, attentive Chinese viewers found professional models in the parade crews.
